Welcome to the KOSMIKS™ Website

Welcome to the KOSMIKS world...a website that is designed to teach kids, between the ages of six and ten, about smart money management. Trying to reach and teach kids today is more difficult than ever, especially when you are competing with cartoon channels and internet content. Static images and books have difficulty capturing attention in a multimedia world. The KOSMIKS website offers a great way to teach basic financial literacy in a fun way and we encourage parents to play along and help kids develop the skills they will need to manage their finances in the future.

The KOSMIKS site introduces young kids to the concepts of earning money through work and then saving that money for larger purchases. Kids will also be introduced to the concepts of interest and payments. The basic message is that to play, you need to work hard and manage your money wisely.

How the Site Works

Kids enter the KOSMIKS site using a secret Space Code that they receive from their credit union. Once they have logged in, they are asked to create their KOSMIKS character that represents them in the KOSMIKS world. Choosing from different heads, torsos and feet, Kids can be creative and can also change the appearance of their KOSMIKS character at any time.

In the KOSMIKS world, money is represented by KUBITS™ and work takes the form of challenging games with a "chore" theme. To earn KUBITS, kids must go to Work World and perform one or more of these chores. As they complete the chores, they will add more KUBITS to their account. By earning more KUBITS, kids can save up to purchase a Space Place or a Rocket Ship that will allow them to visit a new world of fun games.

At any time, kids can visit “My Credit Union” to check their account. All KUBITS earned automatically appear in their account and they will earn interest on their balance, just like in the real world.

The real fun begins when kids decide they want to try all of the games at Games World. To get there requires a rocket and to buy a rocket, you need to be able to make your down-payment.

Kids can shop for a rocket or a cool Space Place at the Space Mall. Once they purchase, they will need to make regular payments at the Credit Union or they might lose their cherished assets. This means they will need to save up again to get back to the games.

We have developed the KOSMIKS website to reflect the benefits of smart money management while providing a fun, engaging place for kids to learn. We hope you will enjoy playing along with your children as they build a foundation for financial success.
